Abu Dhabi, Sept 27 (IBNS): Riding on Mushfiqur Rahim and Mustafizur Rahman's brilliant performances, Bangladesh defeated Pakistan by 37 runs in a Super Four match of the Asia Cup at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium here on Thursday.

Batting first, Bangladesh scored 239 losing all the 10 wickets in 48.5 overs.

Rahim scored 99 runs off 116 balls. He hit nine fours during his one short of 100-run innings.

Chasing the target of 240, Pakistan kept on losing wickets right from the beginning.

Playing for full 50 overs, Pakistan could score only 202/9.

Imam-ul-Haq was the top scorer for Pakistan with his 83-run knock.

Mustafizur Rahman picked four Pakistan wickets conceding 43 runs in his full quota of 10 overs.

By virtue of the win, Bangladesh advanced to the final stage of the coveted trophy, where they will take on India.

The Asia Cup final match is scheduled for Sept 28.

Coincidentally, the same opponents had locked horns in the previous final of the tournament, which was won by India by beating Bangladesh in the latter's backyard.
