Visakhapatnam/IBNS: Ashutosh Sharma's unbeaten 66 from 31 balls scripted a memorable victory for struggling Delhi Capitals in their inaugural match in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 against Lucknow Super Giants in Visakhapatnam on Monday.

Ashutosh's long six in the final over sealed DC's one-wicket win, which seemed quite impossible at the start of their run-chase.

Chasing 210, DC  lost three wickets early for only seven as Shardul Thakur was leading the LSG bowling efficiently.

Though Faf du Plessis, skipper Axar Patel and Tristan Stubbs led a fightback, DC lost half of their wickets for only 65 with LSG smelling an easy victory.

When DC were reduced to 113-6, Ashutosh, who slammed 5 fours and as many sixes, stitched a match-saving 55-run partnership with Vipraj Nigam, who scored a valuable 39 from 15 balls.

Earlier, Nicholas Pooran (75 from 30 balls) and Mitchell Marsh (72 from 36 balls) helped LSG put 209-8 in 20 overs.
