Arunachali mother breaks record by scaling Everest twice within five days

Guwahati, May 21 (IBNS): Anshu Jamsenpa, an Indian woman hailing from Arunachal Pradesh, has scripted a history after she scaling Mt Everest twice within five days.

According to the reports, Anshu along with Nepali climber Furi Sherpa, scaled the world's highest peak at around 8 am on Sunday.

Earlier, Anshu stood atop the 8,848-metre (29,028-feet) peak at around 9-15 am on May 16.

The Arunachal Pradesh mountaineer set a world record becoming the first woman climber to make double ascent in just five days and the first Indian woman to scale the world's highest peak for fith time.

Anshu Jamsenpa, a 37-year old mother, origin from Assam had also scaled Mt Everest twice within 10 days in 2011.

She also stood atop of the peak in 2013.
