Doha: Argentina dominated the first half as Lionel Messi and Di Maria put two goals in the net to help their side go 2-0 up against France in the iconic Final match of the Qatar World Cup here on Sunday.

At half-time, Argentina seemed to be comfortably positioned against the current World Champions.

Messi drew the first blood when he converted a penalty in the 23rd minute of the game to give Argentina 1-0 lead.

In the 36th minute of the game, Di Maria scored a charismatic goal to leave his squad 2-0 up against the current champions.

Argentina dominated both in possession and chances in the first half while the French squad struggled all through the phase.

Argentina last won the title in 1986.

This is the last chance for Messi to lift the cup.

The final match is going to be his last international outing for Argentina.
