Amway India renews support to West Bengal Athletics Association team
This is the second year in running that Amway India has supported the West Bengal State Athletic Team.
At a formal event at the Sports Journalists’ club in Kolkata, Shri Prasun Mukherjee, President, WBAA, and Shri Diptarag Bhattacharjee, Vice President, Eastern Region, Amway India unveiled the jersey of the “Amway West Bengal State Athletic Team” in presence of dignitaries and athletes at sports journalists club.
Vivek Sahay, Vice President, WBAA, Shri Kamalesh Chatterjee, Vice President, WBAA and Shri Kamal Kumar Moitra, Honorary Secretary, West Bengal Athletic Association were also present.
Prasun Mukherjee, President, WBAA said, “This year West Bengal Athletic Association has been entrusted to organize the very prestigious 55th National Athletic Championship, 2015 in Kolkata from 16th – 19th September. Most of the country’s best athletes will be participating in the event. We are thankful to our sponsors Amway India, ONGC, Coal India, LIC and other corporate houses who have partnered with us to make this event a grand success. The sports department of the Government of West Bengal has extended their support. We expect the athletes will try to perform their best prior to the next Olympic Games to be held in Brazil (Reo) in 2016”.
Diptarag Bhattacharjee, Vice President, Eastern Region, Amway India said, “We are privileged to renew ur support to the state athletic team for the second year in a row. Beyond this, we have been also supporting the State Athletics Championship for the last three consecutive years.”
The Amway West Bengal State Athletic Association will also host the 55th National Athletic Championship,2015 this year that will be held from Sept 16 to Sept 19 at the Sports Authority India Complex.
Over 1000 athletes will participate in the tournament from all over India. The championship will also witness participation of the athletes of the Amway West Bengal State Athletic team.
