AIFF technical committee meets in Delhi

New Delhi, Apr 15 (IBNS): All India Football Federation’s Technical Committee meeting was Chaired over by Shyam Thapa, Chairman, AIFF Technical Committee at Football Headquarters, the Football House in Dwarka today (April 15, 2019).

Besides AIFF General Secretary Kushal Das, and National Team Director Abhishek Yadav,Henry Menezes, Ishfaq Ahmed, Pradip Datta, and GP Palguna also attended the meeting, while Sunder Raman was present via video-conferencing.

I-League CEO Mr. Sunando Dhar, and AIFF General Manager, Swati Kothari were also present, as was AIFF’s acting Technical Director Savio Medeira.

The Committee applauded the performance of the Indian Senior Women’s Team in the AFC Olympic Qualifiers Round 2 in Mandalay, and the team’s results in the build-up to the tournament, and also the Indian Senior Men’s team’s heart-warming performance in the AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019.

The Committee deliberated on the shortlisted candidates for the appointment of the Technical Director, and unanimously decided to “get a feel of their perspective for the development for Indian Football.”

“We will have a chat with all the shortlisted candidates to understand their vision, and objective. The process will be completed within the next fortnight,” Thapa stated.

Furthermore, paying much emphasis on the future roadmap, the Committee also extensively went through the process about the selection of the Indian National Team coach. The Committee, and the Secretariat are in the process of further shortlisting the candidates which would be completed within the next two weeks, for the appointment to take place within the scheduled deadline of the mid-week of May.

Yadav, also apprised the Committee about the developments of all National age-group teams.
