New Delhi/IBNS: Wrestler Vinesh Phogat said on Friday that she has tested positive for Covid-19 but is asymptomatic.

The Asian Games gold medalist said she has isolated herself at home and all her family members are also isolating.

"I have tested positive for COVID-19 in a test taken yesterday. I am currently showing no symptoms but have isolated myself. All my family members are also isolating. I would request everyone who has come in contact with me recently to get tested. Stay safe everyone! Thank you," Vinesh tweeted.

Vinesh Phogat is also among the five sports personalities who will be conferred the prestigious Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award this year.

The 26-year-old is the only woman wrestler to have qualified for the Tokyo Olympics.

She will skip the virtual ceremony for the National Sports Awards distribution on Saturday, said media reports.

Vinesh had raised apprehensions when the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) announced to resume the national camp in Lucknow from September 1.

She has been training with Om Prakash, a very senior coach, with her personal coach Woller Akos giving the training plans every week, said media reports.
