Mumbai, Mar 26 (IBNS): As India crushed out of the World Cup after Australia defeated the current World Champions by 95 runs in the semi-final of the tournament here on Thursday, a strange reaction surfaced on social media platform with filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma expressing "happiness" over the loss of the men in blue in the match.
He said he hates cricket and all those people who love the game.

"I am sooooo happyyy India lost because I hate cricket..nd if there's anything I hate more than cricket then it's people who love cricket," Varma tweeted.

He said cricket watching makes Indians non-productive.

"I hate cricket because I love my country and cricket makes my country men most non productive because they stop working and start watching," he wrote.

"I wish and pray to all Gods of my country to cure my country men of this dangerous disease called cricketitis," he posted.

The filmmaker also asked other countries to defeat team India again and again.

"I request the other countries teams to defeat Indian team again and again till it stops playing and Indians stop watching and start working," he tweeted.

"Addiction of Alcohol and cigarettes only does limited and mostly personal harm but addiction to cricket is a national disease," he added.

Slamming his tweets, former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah posted: "No wonder your movies are such block buster hits all the time :-)"
