Tearful moment when the award was in my hands: Dilip Kumar says after receiving Padma Vibhushan

Mumbai, Dec 14 (IBNS): Veteran actor Dilip Kumar has said he turned emotional while accepting the Padma Vibhushan from Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh here.
The award was presented to the actor at his Mumbai residence on Sunday.
 
Kumar said: "Tearful moment when the award was in my hands. How happy and proud my family was. Indeed Allah's mercy and blessing."

"Overwhelmed today by the gesture of home minister @BJPRajnathSingh who flew to Mumbai specially to present me with the #PadmaVibhushan," Kumar said in one of the series of tweets he posted after receiving the award.

"Health did not allow me to travel to Delhi to receive the award from the President. CM @Dev_Fadnavis n Gov. Vidyasagarji too came to wish me," he said.

Kumar, who turned 93 last week, is known for acting in several films like  Andaz (1949),  Aan (1952), Devdas (1955), Azaad (1955), Mughal-e-Azam (1960) and Ganga Jamuna (1961).
