Swastika Mukherjee shares a bold image on social media on World Suicide Prevention Day

Kolkata, Sept 10 (IBNS): Bengali actress Swastika Mukherjee on Tuesday shared a bold image on her Facebook page where she is seen showing her scars to the audience.

In the picture, several scars could be seen on her hand.

She shared the image on a day when the globe is celebrating World Suicide Prevention Day on Tuesday.

She also captioned the image with a bold caption which read: " THEY define us,confine us but never defy us. SCARS narrate their own tale - of depression, anxiety, emotional instability, suicidal tendencies. BUT the underlying message is always ignored. THEY are signs of warriors, stories of their survival. SO next time you see SCARS, STOP calling us mad, psycho, derailed, sick, bipolar. DARE you use these words fashionably to hide your insecurities. STOP judging STOP bitching STOP assuming STOP neglecting. Instead, LISTEN  COMMUNICATE EMPATHISE LOVE 💛 #WorldSuicidePreventionDay #ScarsDontScare #DontHide."

Netizens reacted to the picture and several of them posted their comments beneath the image.

One Tithi Chakraborty wrote: "And that each scar has its own beautiful story...will never ever be understood ...Your inspiring words have stirred many souls."

Another Damayanti Dattaroy remarked: "And finally someone spoke! Thankyou di! Because of these scars I can still smile hiding my griefs.... These scars saved me! Thankyou for speaking about it!."

Swastika is one of the popular actress in the Bengali film industry.

She has worked in several memorable movies like Kia and Cosmos, Saheb Bibi Golaam, Bye Bye Bangkok among others.

She worked in Bollywood movie Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!.

The film featured actor Sushant Singh Rajput in the lead role.
