Mumbai/IBNS: Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar is expected to be seen playing the role of a tough policeman in director Rohit Shetty's upcoming Hindi film Sooryavanshi, the trailer of which was released by the makers on Monday.

In the trailer which ran for more than four minutes, Kumar can be seen nabbing Laskar terrorists while he was given the task to prevent a blast in Mumbai, a city in the western part of India.

In the course of his police duty, Kumar was shown even losing his child getting reprimanded by his wife played by actress Katrina Kaif.

Actors Ranveer Singh and Ajay Devgn, who had played the cops' roles in Shetty's earlier films Singham and Simmba respectively, will also be appearing in the film.

The film is also expected to give a message regarding religion and terrorism.

Towards the end of the trailer, Kumar was seen referring to the "true Muslims" of the "Hindustan".

Sooryavanshi is slated to release on Mar 24.
