Kolkata/IBNS: Bangladeshi superstar Shakib Khan and Tollywood lead actress Mimi Chakraborty starrer Bengali film Toofan is set to release in India on July 5.

The Bangladeshi film, which is directed by Raihan Rafi, has already swept the box office in Dhaka.

Apart from Shakib and Mimi, the film features Masuma Rahman Nabila as co-lead and popular Bangladeshi actor Chanchal Chowdhury in a special role.

In addition to its domestic success, Toofan has achieved historic advance sales in Australia.

Over 2,000 advance tickets were sold more than ten days before the film's release, breaking the previous record held by Raihan Rafi's Poran, which sold around 800 advance tickets.

The film's international acclaim extends beyond Australia, with Toofan being screened in over 100 theaters worldwide, including in the USA, Canada, Belgium, Bahrain, Oman, UAE, Qatar, Portugal, Spain, Netherlands, UK, France, Sweden, and London.

Toofan tells the compelling story of a man from a small village, born a killer, who rises to power to become the biggest don.

The film, which is produced by Alpha-i, Chorki and SVF, was released in the Bangladeshi film circuit during Eid-ul-Adha.
