Salman Khan tops Forbes India Celebrity 100 list for 2014

New Delhi, Dec 12 (IBNS): Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has topped the 2014 Forbes India Celebrity 100 list making his colleague Shah Rukh Khan slip from his lead position, that he acquired for the last two editions.
Shah Rukh Khan, who was a clear No. 1 in the previous two editions, has slipped this time as he did not have a release within the magazine's period of consideration (October 1, 2013 to September 30, 2014).

Meanwhile, Salman has rocked the Box Office with two hits—Jai Ho and Kick—and substantial earnings as host of reality show Bigg Boss on Colors TV, Forbes India stated.

The No. 2 slot this year is occupied by Bollywood’s megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who is up from the fifth position last year.

Bachchan, too, drew sizeable earnings from his TV shows Kaun Banega Crorepati and Yudh apart from brand endorsements, Forbes India said.

"Despite a quiet year, Shah Rukh has only slipped to No. 3 spot.
This can be attributed to his undiminished brand value that has earned him about Rs 202 crore (the highest through endorsements)," the magazine said.

Indian Cricket team skipper MS Dhoni has bagged the third spot followed by actor Akshay Kumar and cricketer Virat Kohli.

Bollywood's perfectionist Aamir Khan has been ranked as No. 7 in the list.

Surprisingly actress Deepika Padukone has manged a spot in the first 10 ranks by bagging the No. 8 spot.

Actor Hrithik Roshan and cricket sensation Sachin Tendulkar have appeared on the 9th and the 10th spot respectively.
