Mumbai/IBNS: The makers of Dhurandhar: The Revenge, the sequel to the 2025 blockbuster Dhurandhar, unveiled the film’s teaser on Tuesday, promising a high-octane action spectacle.

Ranveer Singh returns in the lead role, reprising his character from the first instalment.

Directed by Aditya Dhar, the sequel is slated for a theatrical release on March 19, 2026, coinciding with Eid, Gudi Padwa and Ugadi.

The film will release in five languages — Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada.

In Dhurandhar, Ranveer portrayed Hamza Ali Mazari, an undercover operative tasked with infiltrating the gang of dreaded criminal Rehman Dakait, played by Akshaye Khanna.

Produced by Jio Studios and B62 Studios, the sequel also stars Sara Arjun (20) as Ranveer Singh’s romantic interest. The ensemble cast includes Sanjay Dutt and R. Madhavan in pivotal roles.

Set against real-life incidents such as the 1999 IC-814 hijacking and the 2001 Parliament attack, Dhurandhar traces a covert Indian intelligence operation aimed at dismantling Pakistan-based terror and criminal networks.

The narrative follows a high-stakes mission led by senior intelligence officials, who deploy an unconventional operative to infiltrate Karachi’s underworld—triggering violent confrontations, shifting loyalties and intense power struggles.

With a runtime of over three hours, the film blends espionage, large-scale action and geopolitical drama, while ending with a clear setup for its sequel.

Apart from Ranveer Singh’s performance, Akshaye Khanna’s stylised screen presence generated massive buzz on social media. His entry sequence, set to Flipperachi’s trending track FA9LA, has gone viral, with viewers calling it a throwback to his earlier screen persona.

Released theatrically on December 5, 2025, Dhurandhar emerged as the highest-grossing Indian film domestically, earning over Rs. 800 crore. The film premiered on Netflix on January 30.
