Ram Gopal Varma faces flak for remarks on MSG - The Messenger

Mumbai, Mar 3 (IBNS): A few weeks back, Bollywood director, Ram Gopal Varma took to Twitter to express his views on the head of the Dera Sacha Sauda, Saint Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insaan and his movie 'MSG - The Messenger'.

The makers of the film alleged that Verma has hurt the religious sentiments with his "insensitive tweets" about the Dera Sacha Sauda head.

This offended the followers and instigated one particular devotee, Jasbir Singh of Ludhiana’s Lohara village, to file a first information report (FIR) against the director at Daba village under Section 298 (uttering words to hurt religious sentiments) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 66 (sending offensive messages through communication services and devices) of the Information Technology Act.

Varma tweeted openly on Feb  13 about the release of the movie, ‘MSG - The Messenger’ where in he, in a series of posts spoke negatively about the movie as well as about Saint Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insaan making use of certain offensive words.

Several staunch devotees, Jasbir Singh along with his fellow Dera followers, were deeply disturbed about the objectionable language used against the Dera head.
