PK makes Rs.182 cr in first week, sets new record

Mumbai, Dec 26 (IBNS): Aamir Khan starrer PK has collected Rs. 182.58 crore in its first week in India, making it the highest week one collection.
The film opened at Rs. 26.63 cr on a working Friday and Saturday saw an upward growth of Rs. 30.34 cr. Sunday made a record breaking Rs. 38.44 cr. 
 
The first weekend saw the highest rate of growth for any big Indian cinema film.
 
Mondays’s collection was Rs. 21.22 cr, Tuesday was Rs. 18.85 cr and Wednesday’s collection was Rs.19.55 cr.
 
PK collected Rs. 27.55 cr on Thursday, making it the highest Christmas day collection for any movie.
 
"PK set quite a few records in Hindi cinema; Highest non Holiday Monday collection for any Film (21.22 cr), Highest day 7 collection ever for any film. (27.55 cr), Highest Christmas Holiday collection ever and the Highest Opening Week for any Hindi Film- 182.58 cr," an official statement said.
