Mimi Chakraborty shares powerful message on International Women's Day

Kolkata/IBNS: Tollywood actress-MP Mimi Chakraborty, who has been a part of a number of successful Bengali films over the years, on Tuesday took to social media to share a powerful message on the occasion of International Women's Day.

In a video message, Chakraborty highlighted how women face discrimination in the society which often questions their choices and actions.

"For me, everyday is a women's day because our very existence in this world is from the womb of a woman but we are still fighting our own battles..." Chakraborty said.

The actress also touched upon the discriminations faced by single women who face challenges in raising their children.

"Apart from whatever I have achieved in life, that matters nothing but it's just marriage or having a kid.

"With due respect to every institution, let us be, let us decide on what we want to do and stop judging us on what we are wearing, stop giving character certificates to us...," the Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP said, sharing her personal experience.

On the work front, the contemporary leading Bengali actress was last seen in the 2021 film Baazi.

She will soon be seen in cinemas through upcoming films Mini and Khela Jawkhon.
