Kareena Kapoor does a cameo in 'The Shaukeens'
Mumbai, Oct 31 (IBNS) Director Abhishek Sharma is busy working with Bollywood's best for his upcoming comedy 'The Shaukeens'. After Abhishek Bachchan’s friendly appearance, it is said that Kareena Kapoor will also be a part of the film in a cameo role. Looks like 'The Shaukeens' just got a glamorous touch.
Bebo who shot for the film at a studio in Bandra was already engaged in a photo-shoot at the same venue. Taking advantage of the situation the makers of ‘The Shaukeens’ instantly shot her cameo appearance soon after receiving Kareena’s nod. Moreover, her role has been kept unwraps so fans will be completely surprised with her cameo.
Director Sharma was mightily impressed with Bebo’s scene performance. So much so, that he’s been talking about it to everyone who approaches him about the same. When we got a chance to chat with him, the excitement and enthusiasm on his face was pretty evident. “I had never worked with Kareena before this,” he said. He further added “When she is in front of the camera, she is just electrifying. And she has such great comic timing – we had a blast.”
A crew member revealed, “In fact, when the two met at the shoot, Kareena and Sharma got along like a house on fire. Though she hadn’t seen his first film (Tere Bin Laden), she told him she had heard great things about it. She even expressed a keen desire to watch The Shaukeens before she leaves for Delhi in the first week of November for a film shooting.”
Interestingly, Kareena and Abhishek were spotted together on screen almost 11 years ago in J P Dutta’s film, LOC Kargil. Also the very same actors who made their Bollywood debut at the same time, starring opposite in ‘Refugee’ come together for ‘The Shaukeens’ after quite a long time.
‘The Shaukeens' is a remake of 1982 comedy movie ‘Shaukeen’ directed by Basu Chatterjee. It stars Anupam Kher, Annu Kapoor, Piyush Mishra and Lisa Haydon along with Akshay Kumar in his most special appearance. Produced by Cine1 Studios, Cape Of Good Films & Ashwin Varde Productions and directed by Abhishek Sharma, the film is set to release on November 7, 2014.
