Mumbai, Jan 22 (IBNS): Millions ran to show support to a cause close to their heart during the Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon recently. Among these determined faces was actress Kalki Koechlin, who was spotted at the prestigious Mumbai Marathon along with Malini Chib, a well known social activist with acute cerebral palsy.
Kalki plays the role of a girl with cerebral palsy, who is on journey of self discovery in Viacom 18 Motion Pictures’ upcoming film ‘Choone Chali Aasman’, previously known as ‘Margarita, With A Straw’. Kalki and Malini became close friends when the latter spend some time with Malini to learn the nuances of her character Laila in the film.

Malini inspires those who want to overcome their disabilities and achieve great things in life. She participated in the Annual Mumbai Marathon on 18th January along with Kalki to show her support to everyone with the condition.

‘Choone Chali Aasman’ addresses cerebral palsy, death and sexuality, in a heartfelt, natural manner. And while many films may exploit these topics, this movie offers a fresh and much needed take on it all

Produced by Viacom 18 Motion Pictures, Jakhotia Group, Ishan Talkies and ADAPT, and directed by the acclaimed Shonali Bose the film’s stars Kalki in a lead role, along with veteran star Revathy, Hollywood actor William Moseley (lead of the Narnia Chronicles) and the talented new face Sayani Gupta in pivotal roles. The movie is slated to release in April 2015.
