Kolkata, Dec 18 (IBNS) The young maker of 'Identity', which won Jury award at the 4th Delhi Shorts International Film Festival 2015, Ankit Aditya said pocket sized feature film is the new in thing with the gradual emergence of digital media and small theatre screenings.

"You can reach out to a large audience if you make films in this format as Identity our maiden venture, has already proved," Ankit told IBNS here after a special screening.

Identity has also won the award for the Best Film at ‘Expressions Punjabi Global Foundation’, Mumbai (2015).

"These days many people are not comfortable in theatres after a hard day's work. They love watching tv. Digital channel is an ideal medium to reach out to them for such short-length films," Ankit explained.

Produced by  Gold Reel Production, "Identity" has been selected at the Jaipur International Film Festival and is in consideration at various other festivals such as Toronto International Short Film Festival, 6th Dadasaheb Phalke Film Festival, New Film Makers New York, Sundance Film Festival, Central India International Film Festival.

"We need to cater to all sorts of audience. There are films which are meant for festivals and are not strictly theatrical releases. These films can have total entertainment value as well like full length feature films. We will cater to this segment," Producer of the film Anirban Aditya said.

He said the language was Hindi for Pan Indian reach with dollops of English and they have plans to make Bengali films also.

"For creative works language cannot be the barrier," Anirban said.

Presenter of the film Arijit Dutta of Priya Entertainments said, Priya will promote such films by young makers in future through special screenings and helping to explore the digital medium.
