'Have many platforms to raise my voice': Kangana Ranaut on being banned from Twitter

Mumbai/IBNS: After being banned from Twitter permanently for violating rules of the Hateful Conduct policy, actor Kangana Ranaut on Tuesday said she has many platforms to raise her voice including her films.

She accused Twitter, which is an American owned company, of promoting the practice of enslaving the "brown people" by the "white."  She said that the microblogging site only proved her point by suspending her account.

In her statement, the fiery actress, who is also a vocal supporter of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, said: "Twitter has only proved my point. They are Americans, and by birth a white person feels entitled to enslave a brown person. They want to tell you what to think, speak or do, fortunately I have many platforms I can use to raise my voice, including my own art in the form of cinema but my heart goes out to the people of this nation who have been tortured, enslaved and censored for thousands of years and still their is no end to the suffering."

Twitter too released a statement clarifying why it had decided to permanently suspend Ranaut's account owing to violation of its rules on hateful conduct and abusive behaviour.

"We've been clear that we will take strong enforcement action on behaviour that has the potential to lead to offline harm. The referenced account has been permanently suspended for repeated violations of Twitter Rules specifically our Hateful Conduct policy and Abusive Behaviour policy," Twitter said in a statement.

The ban came after Ranaut issued a tweet in which she urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to "tame" West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee sharing BJP leader Swapan Dasgupta's post on post-poll violence in the eastern state.

In that same tweet, she also requested the country's Prime Minister to use his "Virat Roop" from "early 2000's", indicating to resort to gangster-like tactics to allegedly control the Trinamool Congress "goons" after Mamata Banerjee's party defeated the mighty Bharatiya Janata Party in the recently-concluded Assembly elections.

Following the election, Banerjee's party has been accused of violent attacks on its defeated opponents, which it denies.

Opposition BJPalleged that Trinamool Congress is holding 'small' victory rallies across the state flouting Election Commission's order.
