Happy Birthday SRK: Wishes pour in as Shah Rukh Khan turns 56

Mumbai/IBNS: Wishes from his co-stars and film personalities poured in as Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan turned 56 Tuesday.

Shah Rukh's co-star from a number of films, Anushka Sharma, took to her Instagram to share a story wishing the superstar.

Filmmaker Karan Johar narrated on Instagram how he had met his friend Shah Rukh.

In a long post, Karan says, "I met him on the sets of Karan Arjun for the first time …. I tagged along with my father to hang out with Kajol… not realising i was going to meet a man who would go on to shape my life , my career and my very being ….his charisma and intelligence is a globally known fact … but I have the privilege of witnessing his humanity and heart… an unmatchable father … a rock solid husband … a loving brother and an indispensable friend ….

"He is all that and so much more …Love you so much Bhai … may every Mannat of yours get answered and the abundant love you rightfully deserve keep coming your way…. Happy birthday!"

"Happy Birthday Shah Rukh sir. Big love and respect always," actor Sidharth Malhotra says.

Like every year, fans gathered outside Shah Rukh's Mumbai residence 'Mannat' to greet the superstar, whose family went through tough phases after the actor's son Aryan Khan was arrested in a drug case.

Spending three weeks in jail, Aryan, 23, was released on a conditional bail last week.
