Dev sheds off his star image in Dhumketu: Rudranil

| | Jan 16, 2016, at 04:13 pm
Kolkata, Jan 16 (IBNS) Having a series of films lined up this year, including Kaushik Ganguly's 'Dhumketu' where he shares frame with mainstream hero Dev, criticially acclaimed Bengali actor Rudranil Ghosh says the trend of actors coming out of their known genre is good for industry.
"In 'Dhumketu' Dev again sheds his popular image after few previous fillms and has to do acting in a serious role. On the other hand in mainstream 'Shararipu', I have taken off my serious role image and followed the singing-dancing routine. So It is good for industry that we, the actors, are shifting genres for which we are known," Rudranil tells IBNS on the sidelines of FFACE calendar launch, marking eastern India's premier fresh model hunt contest event.

"An acting is acting," he reasons.

"Dhumketu happens to be 'dui bondhur galpo' (a story of two friends) and me and Parambrata Chatterjee are the two on-screen friends. We found it easy as being buddies in real life." the actor in Parambrata's directorial venture 'Hawa Badal' says.

Maintaining the momentum of his widely appreciated role in Srijit's (Mukherjee) Rajkahini, Ruidranil has also 'Chocolate' and 'Love Express' lined up, as two typical main-stream films.

Pointing out friend director Raj Chakroborty has scouted new faces from this contest, the only one of its type in eastern zone, Rudranil says, "Like Raj I am also scouting for fresh faces for my next home production."
