Deepika finds a tough opponent in Irrfan Khan
Mumbai, Jan 13 (IBNS): It is war for the lead cast of the movie Piku.
Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone, who is an ace Badminton player just like her father, Prakash Padukone, indulges in the game as and when she gets time from her busy schedule. And that is exactly what she did on the sets of Shoojit Sircar's family comedy drama Piku.
Only this time Deepika Padukone found a rather worthy opponent in her co-star the multitalented National Award winning actor Irrfan Khan.
An insider present on the sets revealed, “They were sitting together one day and Irrfan asked Deepika if she would play a game of badminton since he saw some racquets lying around. Ever since then, the two have been hooked to the sport. Whenever they get a few minutes off from work, they head to play out”.
The source further added that what started out as friendly games soon turned into a competition of sorts between them.
The talented actors also started keeping a count of the games they won and lost.
Irrfan Khan confirmed saying “I had to play better than Deepika and you must understand that it was a real task. I have asked her to give me some time [to prepare] so we can have a proper a match soon."
Piku’ is a roller coaster ride of a crazy father-daughter relationship essayed by Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone with Irrfan Khan top lining the cast, in a pivotal author backed role.
‘Piku’ also marks coming together of Shoojit Sircar, Ronnie Lahiri and Juhi Chaturvedi, the team that had scripted Vicky Donor.
Produced by MSM Motion Pictures (a division of Sony Entertainment Network), in association with Saraswati Entertainment Creations Limited and Rising Sun Films, ‘Piku’ will release worldwide on April 30.
