Kolkata/IBNS: The first poster of the much-anticipated Bangla Zee5 series Taarkata, directed by Samik Roy Choudhury, has been unveiled.

Actor Vikram Chatterjee, who headlines the dark action-comedy series, also marks his debut as a producer under his banner, VC Films—signalling a bold creative leap.

The poster is striking and deliberately chaotic. Chatterjee’s character, Agni Sen, appears in a raw, unhinged moment—laughing intensely with a gun held to his own chin, his face smeared with blood.

A vivid swirl of blue and red in the background lends a graphic, almost comic-book-like contrast to the violence, amplifying the show’s darkly playful tone.

The title Taarkata, which translates to barbed wire, evokes something sharp, fractured, and dangerous.

Colloquially, it also hints at a mind on edge—an idea the poster fully embraces. From the cracked frame of his glasses to his dishevelled hair, rugged beard, and simple vest, every detail pieces together a character who exists in a volatile space between vulnerability and menace.

The series follows Agni Sen, a police officer battling memory loss after a traumatic incident, adding layers of psychological intrigue to the narrative.

With an ensemble cast that includes Meiyang Chang as the antagonist, Taarkata promises a gripping blend of action, dark humour, and emotional complexity.

More than just a performance, this project reflects Chatterjee’s deep investment in the story—taking risks both on-screen and behind it, and shaping a world that feels as fractured and unpredictable as its protagonist.
