Mumbai/IBNS: Putting all speculations to rest, Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt on Friday jetted off to Cannes to attend the 78th edition of Cannes Film Festival.

Alia, who is set to make her debut at the prestigious film festival, was spotted at the airport in Mumbai in the wee hours on Friday.

The hugely popular star in India was papped at the airport when she stepped out of her luxury car in a pair of jeans, tee, a blazer and styling it with dark glasses.

As she posed for the cameras, Alia looked effortlessly smart and gorgeous as she entered the airport.

Earlier she hinted at her journey with an Instagram story where the 'Brahmastra' actress wrote, "Off we go."

Alia's journey to Cannes took place in the backdrop of speculations of the actress skipping the festival amid the India-Pakistan border tension.

In this edition of Cannes Film Festival, film veteran Sharmila Tagore led the Indian film fraternity in seizing the red carpet of the gala event.

Tagore was joined by Simi Garewal for the screening of the 4K restored version of their film Aranyer Din Ratri, a 1970 Bengali film directed by maestro Satyajit Ray.

Among other Indian celebrities who attended the festival this year were Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Aditi Rao Hydari, Janhvi Kapoor.
