Abir face of e-rickshaw campaign in city by leading group

Kolkata, June 17 (IBNS) Taking time off from the busy shooting schedule of "Ami Joy Chatterjee" and the new Byomkesh flick, Tollywood actor Abir Chatterjee lends his voice for a new cause, to promote eco-friendly rickshaws.
Abir, who expressed concern over the preponderance of sulphur and carbon emission in our air, says to reduce the dependence on fuel, e-vehicles can be truly the real prototypes for future automobiles.
 
"As we know any such initiative has to be introduced at the mass level, I am all for the popularity of 'Electrie', which consists of seven new-advanced variants of e-vehicles which specifically cater to the masses," the self-confessed car enthusiast says. 
 
The Calcutta High Court recently asked the West Bengal government to regulate e-rickshaws, better known as Totos in city fringes and districts and a central team reportedly found most of these vehicles were less than road worthy prompting the state to form a committee.
 
 "Our new seven variants are high-end battery operated vehicles, safe and secure and not brittle and unstable and having used latest innovation and technology under the Government of India's 'Make in India' campaign," CEO of Electrie Soham Mishra says.
 
"In addition to our manufacturing plant in Pune, our vehicle assembly facilities are located in West Bengal and New Delhi and it will cater to the demand from the Northern and Eastern India focussing solely on end users," the CEO says.
 
The group recently unveiled its brands at EVEXPO, 2016 in the city.
