Kolkata/IBNS: Novelist Manik Bandopadhyay's creation Putulnacher Itikatha has been interpreted as a feature film titled Putulnacher Itikatha, which is directed by Suman Mukhopadhyay.

The film revolves around Shashi (Abir Chatterjee), a doctor trained in Kolkata, who is entangled in his dubious village practice.

He lives alone in his ancestral house and portrays a city like persuading relationships with women.

Speaking of the film, Abir Chatterjee said, “I'm really proud of doing this film. I could relate a bit more with my character Shashi, after reading the novel. This is a completely divergent genre film and I hope the audience would also love me as the character.”
