Yahoo female executive sued for sexual harassment

| | Jul 12, 2014, at 05:13 pm
San Francisco, July 12 (IBNS) A top female official of Yahoo has been accused in a lawsuit on Friday of sexually harassing another junior colleague of hers promising her a "bright future at Yahoo" for sexual favours, a charge that has been denied by the company.

The junior employee working under the accused alleged that she was forced to have sex - oral and digital sex- with her on several occasions.

The complaint has been lodged by one Nan Shi, working as a principal software engineer, against her supervisor and very senior Maria Zhang.

According to reports of the allegation, when Shi refused to give in further she was given a bad performance report and removed her from a project she was heading.

Shi alleged in her lawsuit that Zhang told her to move into a temporary Yahoo housing unit in Sunnyvale and "while staying with Plaintiff, Zhang coerced Plaintiff to have oral and digital sex with her on multiple occasions against her will, even after Plaintiff told her she did not want to have sex.''

Shi alleged that Yahoo did not heed to her complaint and she was terminated.

A Yahoo spokesperson, however, denied the report and said: "There is absolutely no basis or truth to the allegations against Maria Zhang. Maria is an exemplary Yahoo executive, and we intend to fight vigorously to clear her name."
