Why dictators' names begin with M? Rahul Gandhi's fresh dig at PM Modi

| @indiablooms | Feb 04, 2021, at 04:43 am

New Delhi/IBNS: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday took a fresh dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi with a barbed question stating: "Why do so many dictators have names that begin with M?"

He has followed his question with a list of names as evidence like "Marcos, Mussolini, Milosevic, Mubarak, Mobutu, Musharraf, Micombero".

There was no further explanation or context to the tweet, which was liked nearly 58,000 times and shared 12,400 times.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has, however, refused to respond to the tweet.

"Is it necessary to take Rahul that seriously? His approach, whatever it has been in Indian politics, everybody has seen. Need not react," party chief JP Nadda said during a press conference.

Earlier, Gandhi slammed the Indian government's order to Twitter to suspend 250 accounts making "fake, "intermediation and provocative tweets" about the farmers' protest.

"Modi style of governance - Shut them up, cut them off, crush them down," Gandhi tweeted, attaching a screenshot of a news report - titled "Twitter helps govt block accounts tweeting on farmer protests".

On Wednesday, the former Congress chief also posted a video of a press briefing where he demanded that the Prime Minister "does his job".

"Mr Modi, do the job you’ve been elected to do," he said adding that there is no leadership in this country any more but just talk.

In the video, he is also heard saying: "Your job is to protect the kisan (farmer) who is standing outside. Go hold their hand, give them a hug and tell them 'What is it that I can do for you'."
