Kolkata/UNI: Mystery shrouded the death of a BJP worker at Goghat in Hooghly district.

The hanging body of the deceased was recovered from the area adjacent to the railway station.

The family of the man alleged he was murdered by members of the ruling Trinamool Congress.

The BJP workers blocked Arambagh-Medinipur road in protest but were later dispersed.

The name of the deceased is Ganesh Roy.

The family claimed that the 55-year-old BJP activist did not return home at night after leaving the house in the village yesterday afternoon.

His body was found hanging from a tree near Goghat station, about a kilometer and a half away from his house this morning.

The family alleged that the Trinamool Congress started threatening to kill even before the Lok Sabha vote.

BJP state president Dilip Ghosh alleged that Ganesh Roy has been killed.

He accused the Trinamool Congress of pursuing a policy of violence.

Ghosh said the BJP would stage demonstration across the state in protest against the incident.

A posse of police force rushed to the scene to prevent any violence.
