Meerut, Feb 3 (IBNS): Lambasting the Akhilesh Yadav Government for its alleged failure in maintaining law and order, BJP President Amit Shah on Friday promised that the BJP will safeguard the honour of school and college girls once it comes to power in Uttar Pradesh, reports said.

Addressing an election rally at Meerut, Shah said : "This Government of Uttar Pradesh has provided an environment where the Romeos feel empowered. The law and order machinery is so weak that they have no fear of anyone before casting their evil eyes on our girls. But if the BJP comes to power, we will safeguard the honour and chastity of our girls."

Shah promised that the 'anti-Romeo squads' will be  formed in every college across the state.

“In Uttar Pradesh, every college would be provided with the anti-Romeo squad. Our girls would be safeguarded. These anti-Romeo squad would allow the girls to study without fear in college campuses."

Referring to the murder of a businessman in the state on Thursday, the BJP President alleged that the ruling Samajwadi Party has created "an absolute lawless condition in the state."

"This is sheer gundaraj. I promise you if the BJP comes to power, we will bring the rule of law back in UP” he said.
