New Delhi/IBNS: Apple CEO Tim Cook, who is in Delhi for the second store launch, Wednesday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and discussed the tech-powered transformations taking place in India while commiting investments across the country.

In a tweet, Cook thanked the Indian PM for the warm welcome and said he shares the same vision of the positive impact that technology can make on India’s future.

"Thank you Prime Minister @narendramodi for the warm welcome. We share your vision of the positive impact technology can make on India’s future — from education and developers to manufacturing and the environment, we’re committed to growing and investing across the country," the Apple CEO wrote in a tweet.

Responding to the same, PM Modi wrote: "An absolute delight to meet you, @tim_cook! Glad to exchange views on diverse topics and highlight the tech-powered transformations taking place in India."

Before meeting PM Modi, Cook met Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw too.

On Tuesday, he launched Apple's first official retail store in India at the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) in Mumbai.

Similar to the grand opening of Apple's first India store in Mumbai, Cook will welcome customers at the inauguration of the second store in Saket's Select City Mall in Delhi on Thursday.

The Saket store is smaller than the Apple Store opened in Jio World Drive at Bandra Kurla Complex.
