WB wins Krishi Karman Award

Kolkata, Dec 15 (IBNS): West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday said her state has won the Krishi Karman Award for being the best performing state in coarse cereals production.

In her Facebook post, she said: "I am happy to share with you that our West Bengal has been selected for “Krishi Karman Award” for the year 2013­14 by the Union Ministry of Agriculture as the best performing State in coarse cereals production."

She said: "The award consists of a trophy, citation and cash amount of Rs.2 Crore. This is the third year in a row that Bengal has bagged the prestigious “Krishi Karman Award” for outstanding performance in the agriculture sector.
My congratulations and best wishes to all my farmer friends whose dedication has made this achievement possible."
