WB govt takes over Jessop, Dunlop

Kolkata, Feb 29 (IBNS) West Bengal government has taken over engineering company Jessop and tyre and rubber products manufacturer Dunlop.

West Bengal Finance and Commerce & Industries Minister Amit Mitra said the move was made on a humanitarian gesture of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee towards the employees of the two organisations.

"Employees of Jessop and Dunlop, who are in the master rolls, will be given an monthly ex gratia of Rs 10,000," Mitra was quoted as saying by AITC website.

He said around 1,000 workers from both the companies will get the benefit.
