Wanted rhino poacher arrested in Assam’s Biswanath district

Guwahati, Oct 21 (IBNS): Security forces arrested a wanted rhino poacher in Assam’s Biswanath district on Saturday.

A top official of state forest department said that, the arrested poacher was involved in the rhino poaching incident took place at Kawoimari area under Bagori range in Kaziranga national park on June 11 this year.

According to the reports, based on intelligence input, police and forest department officials have launched an operation at Panibharal Kumolia area near Sootea and arrested the poacher identified as Md. Soibur Rahman.

The top forest official said that, the arrested poacher was also involved in another rhino poaching incident in 2016.

Earlier in August, security forces arrested two poachers and handed them over to Bagori range.
