Vasundhara Raje meets with Japanese business delegation in Osaka
Raje is in Japan to launch the global road-show for the Resurgent Rajasthan Partnership Summit to be held on Nov 19-20 this year in Rajasthan's Jaipur city.
The Chief Minister encouraged Japanese business leaders in Osaka to view Rajasthan as a gateway to the burgeoning Indian market and said, “We have come a long way. This is an opportune time to re-energize our relationship and work with Japanese authorities and the business community to secure a better future for Rajasthan. I look forward to a long and sustained relationship between Rajasthan and Japan.”
After the meeting, the Chief Minister Raje met with Masayuki Matsushita, Vice Chairman of the Board, Panasonic Corporation and made a pitch for Rajasthan as an investment destination.
Matsushita commented that he was enthused by the reforms undertaken by the state government and assured her that his company would seriously consider Rajasthan as an investment destination.
The meeting was followed by a visit to the Daikin global headquarters in Osaka. Daikin is also one of the biggest Japanese companies operating out of Rajasthan. The company has a significant operation in the Japanese Zone in Neemrana, Rajasthan. A brief film on Rajasthan was screened.
Kanwal Jeet Jawa, Managing Director of Daikin India made a presentation on Daikin’s global operations and growth.
The President of Daikin Masanori Togawa, in his remarks thanked the Government of Rajasthan for its valuable support and said he looked forward to the day when the Rajasthan operations of the company became the source of exports from India to South-East Asia and the Middle East.
Earlier in the day, the Chief Minister visited the plant of the tableware and technology company Noritake in Nagoya. Noritake, is a world leader in ceramics and one of its better known divisions creates bespoke tableware.
