Uttar Pradesh: Youth arrested for sexually assaulting minor girl in Ballia

Ballia:  A youth was arrested by the police on Tuesday for allegedly sexually assaulting a 6-year-old girl in Narahi area of Ballia district in Uttar Pradesh, police sources said.

The sources said here that the accused Saral Yadav (18) took the victim to a secluded place and sexually assaulted her on Monday evening.

"On the complaint of the victim's mother, a case was lodged against Saral late on Monday night under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act," they said.

In-charge of Narahi police station Panne Lal said that accused Saral Yadav has been arrested and further action was being taken.

"The victim has been sent for medical examination," he said.
