Lucknow/UNI: Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) has unearthed a big racket of conversion of people .

Two people have been arrested from the state capital, who were reported to be engaged in the conversion of around 1000 people to Islam.
Additional Director General of Police ATS and Law and Order Prashant Kumar said here on Monday a big game of conversion was going on in Uttar Pradesh. After we got information about the racket of converting non-Muslims to Muslims, we activated ATS.

In this regard, a case has been registered against Mohammad Umar Gautam and Mufti Qazi Jahangir Alam Qasmi of Jamianagar, Delhi under various sections of law.

Mohammad Umar Gautam, son of late Dhanraj Singh Gautam also converted to Islam in the 1970s. Since then he went to Delhi and engaged in this campaign and joined hands with Mufti.

He said the accused, who were caught in the case of conversion, accepted the fact of converting 1000 people to make them Muslims. Funding was done by the ISI and the entire conspiracy was hatched in the name of Islamic Dawa Center.

The two arrested , Mohammad Umar Gautam and Mufti Qazi Jahangir Alam Qasmi disclosed to the ATS that they have got more than one thousand people converted by giving them money.

" They used to get funding for this work from ISI. These people used to target deaf and dumb children and women. Women were married after conversion. A whole gang was working for this work. The racket of these people has come to the fore in many other states. Both these people have campaigned in many districts of the state including Mathura and Varanasi and got them converted," Kumar said.

ATS has seized a list of one thousand women and children from them. Many children and women of Kanpur, Varanasi and Noida have also been converted. A child from Kanpur has been taken to some city in South India. ATS is finding out about him, ADH said.

The ATS team of Uttar Pradesh was collecting evidence by interrogating them for about past four days. The arrested Maulana Jahangir and Umar Gautam are also allegedly to be associated with a big Muslim organization of Lucknow.

According to ATS officers, they used to target poor Hindus. Both the Maulana claim that they run the organization in the name of Islamic Center. Both the Maulana have got the students of the deaf and dumb school operated in Noida Deaf Society converted to religion by luring them.

Prashant Kumar said on June 3, two Muslim boys attempted to attack a priest at Delhi's Dasna temple. After this, when both were caught, information was received about Mohammad Umar and Mufti Jahangir racket.
