Uttar Pradesh: Three killed in road accident

Jaunpur/UNI: Three people of a family were killed and five others were injured when an SUV overturned under Machhlishahr police station area in the district late Wednesday night.

Police sources said here on Thursday said that the SUV was carrying eight people of a family of Gulab Chand of Sikrara area and were returning from Pratapgarh when the accident occurred when the driver applied the brake to save a cyclist who suddenly came in front of the vehicle near Parsapur village.

When the driver applied the brake, the vehicle overturned and fell into a roadside ditch.

In the accident, Narendra Gautam ( 46), Gulab Chand (50) and Manoj Singh (20) were killed.

Among the injured, conditions of two were stated to be critical.
