Uttar Pradesh: One coach of Kashi Express derails in Prayagraj

Prayagraj: One coach of Gorakhpur bound Kashi Express derailed at Prayagraj Junction railway station on Tuesday, railway sources said here.

Sources told UNI that railway officials reached the spot after getting the information and work to bring the coach of track was started.

"The train was taken back on platform number 9 and its power wagon was detached after which work to connect another coach was started," they said.

Public Relation Officer (PRO) of Prayagraj division of North Central Railway Amit Singh said that rail traffic was not affected due to the incident.

He said that Kashi Express is one of the longest distance trains which passes through three states.

He said that the trains start from Lokmanya Tilak in Maharashtra and terminate at Gorakhpur via Prayagraj.
