Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Harshita Gangwar said the incident took place in Bamhori village where an intermediate student was kidnapped by the miscreants.

"The miscreants held the victim's grandfather, who was accompanying her, and kidnapped the girl," she said.

She said later the victim's grandfather reached Kotwali police station and narrated the incident.

"Acting on the complaint the police have lodged a complaint against four persons, including Akhilesh and Dharmajeet and have started an investigation," she said.

The DSP said raids are being carried out on the possible hideouts of the accused to recover the girl.
