US Vice President JD Vance, his family to visit India next week; meet PM Modi

New Delhi/Washington DC/IBNS: US Vice President JD Vance and his wife Usha will visit India next week following their trip to Italy.

Vance's visit comes amid the two nations trying to negotiate a trade deal, and will include a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He will also visit key cultural sites such as Jaipur and Agra.

A statement by the Vice President's Office said that JD Vance and his family will be travelling to Italy and India from April 18 to April 24.

Besides his wife, Usha, JD Vance will be accompanied by their three children- Ewan, Vivek, and Mirabel.

In Rome, Vance is expected to meet with Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, who is due to visit the White House on Thursday.

Vance, who converted to Catholicism in 2019, will also meet with Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin, according to his office.

He is expected to participate in ceremonies around Easter Sunday.
