ULFA(I) militant nabbed, arms-ammo recover

Guwahati, Aug 29 (IBNS) : Security forces have nabbed a militant of United Liberation Front of Asom (Independent) and recovered arms and ammunition in Assam’s Goalpara district on Friday, police said.

Acting on a tip-off, the police had launched an operation at Krishnai area in the bordering district of Meghalaya and nabbed the militant.

The nabbed militant was identified as Babul Rava alias Kancha and police recovered a 9mm pistol, 14 rounds live ammunition, four batteries and some flexible wires in possession of him.

Goalpara police said the ULFA(I) militant was involved in the bomb explosion incident at Krishnai on July 23 this year where a person was killed and three others injured.
