New Delhi: The Indian government on Sunday announced its embassy in Ukraine will be temporarily shifted to Poland amid 'rapidly deteriorating security situation' in the war-hit nation.

India announced the decision as Russia is increasingly attacking Kyiv and other prominent cities of the country.

"In view of the rapidly deteriorating security situation in Ukraine, including attacks in the western parts of the country, it has been decided that the Indian Embassy in Ukraine will be temporarily relocated in Poland," read the statement issued by the Ministry of External Affairs.

"The situation will be reassessed in the light of further developments," it said.
