Uddhav Thackeray lauds TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee over West Bengal Assembly polls victory

Kolkata/UNI: Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray lauded TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee on massive win and she fought 'lone battle' for pride of Bengal.

"Mamata Banerjee was fighting a "lone battle to uphold the pride of the people of Bengal", Thackeray said.

"All forces converged to ensure her defeat, yet, she emerged victoriously. I congratulate her and the people of West Bengal. Now let us all keep politics aside and focus on our battle against COVID," he added.

The Mamata Banerjee led Trinamool Congress (TMC)is heading for a two-third majority in the 294 seat West Bengal assembly election as the ruling party took lead in 215 seats as the latest trend in the counting showed.
