Two teenage sisters drown in Maharashtra

Jalna, Jul 14 (UNI): In a tragic incident, two teenage sisters were drowned in a pond at Yevata village in Jaffrabad taluka in Maharashtra on Saturday evening, the police sources said on Sunday.

According to police, the deceased have been identified as Kirti Dalvai (14) and her sister Sanskruti Dalvi (12).

The mishap took place when one of them slipped into the water and the other sister who jumped to save her, was also drowned in the process, police said.

Later the villagers rushed to the spot and fished out the dead bodies, which were then sent for autopsy.

A case of sudden death was registered in the concerned police station, police added.
