Barmer, Aug 22 (IBNS): Two sisters were allegedly raped by miscreants in Barmer district of Rajasthan, reports said.

The incident reportedly took place on August 16 when they were returning home from the local police station. The duo, aged 18 and 20, was stopped midway by two men who allegedly attacked and raped them.

The girls also sustained injury when they tried to stop the attackers. Later, they filed an FIR (first information report) with the police.

The victims alleged that the police station initially refused to register any complaint but it was done only after they had approached a senior cop. Now the sisters declined to go back to their village until the police ensure their safety.
