Two militants with warlike stores arrested in Jammu and Kashmir: Army

Srinagar: Security forces arrested two militants in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir, defence spokesman said on Monday.

He said the two were arrested based on an input from police.

"Based on input received from JKP regarding presence of two terrorists in general area of Chak Keller, a Joint Mobile Vehicle Check Post (MVCP) was established in the area at approximately 5.15 pm on October 30," the spokesperson told UNI.

"At approximately 8 pm, the MVCP intercepted a vehicle. The occupants tried to flee but were apprehended," the spokesman said.

The two were identified as Gowher Manzoor and Aqib Hussain Nanda, both residents of Drabgam, Pulwama.

"Warlike stores were recovered from their possession," he said.
