Two Garo militants lynched by villagers in Meghalaya

Guwahati, Aug 27 (IBNS) : Two Garo militants were lynched by villagers when they were trying to abduct a trader in West Garo Hills of Meghalaya on Wednesday, the police said.

According to reports, two militants of Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA) were lynched by villagers at Chibilang market area in West Garo Hills, when they had tried to abduct a trader from the market.

“The militant duo had entered at the market and trying to abduct a trader from the area but local people caught and beat them. The militants were killed on spot,” a top official of Meghalaya police said.

Garo militants had abducted at least 10 people in West Garo Hills in past two months.
